Fact: Attempts to save time rarely end in actual time saved. Case in point: I have a bunch of cards to make today, so I wanted to make the one for this post quickly. So, I decided to color my image with Distress Ink rather than Copics. Then I remembered that I’ve been meaning to do a video tutorial on this technique, so I figured what the heck and got out my camera.
Then I shot the video, and had to edit the video. And then I got to wait for the video to upload. Now it’s past 6, and I finally have a blog post.
I like the way the card came out, though.
As for the video, well…
It’s my first one. Try to ignore all the ‘ums.’ Believe me, I know they’re there. Still, I’ve got to start somewhere, so here you go.
Now back to the card.
I used CPS #205 for the sketch. The sentiment is another fun technique. I printed it backwards on transparency paper and applied it to the card like a rub-on. This works differently with different printer inks. With mine the ink doesn’t fully transfer, so it looks more hand-stamped than it would if you’d done the technique with a laser printer. Still, I love the results.
The stamp is Farm Chick from The Stamping Boutique. This might be a good time to mention that TSB is having a Spring Fever Blog Hop this Saturday.
Have I ever mentioned how lovely and talented this design team is? You’re not going to want to miss this Hop.
And back to the card, one last time.
